IMPORTANT!

THE SERVICE REQUIRES THE AVAILABILITY OF YOUR GENETIC FILE.

If you do not have your genetic file, start with the Prisma test: it contains everything you need to collect a DNA sample.

Genetic analysis of 20 indicators related to the condition of the skin, hair and vision. Assessment of genetic characteristics of the condition of the skin and the rate of its age-related changes, susceptibility to dermatological conditions, risks for vision and hearing and genetically determined need for nutrients to maintain the skin and connective tissue.

Take the test once — results can be updated according to changes in the scientific basis.

  • 20 indicators in 4 categories: skin diseases, age-related changes, eye diseases, skin nutrients

  • Saliva collection for DNA sample at home - no blood, no clinic, no prior preparation

  • Structured report in your personal account with a genetic profile for each indicator

  • Personalized recommendations for nutrients and care, taking into account identified dermatological predispositions and the pace of age-related changes

  • One saliva sample for DNA is the basis for analysis of any other Apixmed Prism panels without repeated sampling

Description

Genetic report: skin, hair and appearance

Why are age-related changes, skin's response to care, and external factors so different in different people?

The rate of wrinkle formation, the tendency to atopic dermatitis or psoriasis, the rate of graying of hair, the individual need for antioxidants all this can be partially explained from the point of view of genetics. Variants of genes associated with the synthesis of collagen and elastin affect how quickly the skin loses elasticity. The effectiveness of antioxidant protection depends on the genetic characteristics of the absorption of vitamins A, C and E. The barrier function of the skin, which is associated with the tendency to inflammatory dermatological conditions, also has a pronounced genetic component.

This DNA skin analysis assesses genetic characteristics across 20 indicators, from dermatological risks and age-related changes to eye health and skin nutrient profile. These dermato-genetics data are stable throughout life and complement the dermatologist's assessment.

What indicators does the test evaluate?

Skin diseases

Five indicators that capture genetic predisposition to dermatological conditions.

  • Skin diseases  genetic factors of the overall resistance of the skin and susceptibility to various forms of dermatological disorders are analyzed.

  • Psoriasis  genetic features of immune regulation associated with a predisposition to chronic autoimmune inflammation of the skin are identified.

  • Atopic dermatitis — genetic factors of skin barrier function and immune hyperreactivity underlying atopy are evaluated.

  • Eczema  genetic features associated with the predisposition to inflammatory skin reactions to external stimuli are analyzed.

  • Skin cancer  genetic factors of susceptibility to malignant skin neoplasms are being determined, in particular those related to the reaction to ultraviolet radiation.

Age-related changes

Six indicators that capture the genetic characteristics of the pace and nature of age-related changes in appearance.

  • Skin aging and wrinkles — genetic factors that influence the rate of degradation of collagen and elastin fibers and the tendency to early photoaging are analyzed.

  • Graying of hair — genetic features of melanin production and the rate of hair pigmentation decline are determined.

  • Eye aging  genetic factors of age-related changes in the visual system are evaluated, in particular those associated with a predisposition to age-related macular degeneration.

  • Hearing loss — genetic features that influence the susceptibility to age-related hearing loss are analyzed.

  • The rate of aging  genetic factors of the overall rate of age-related changes at the level of cellular mechanisms are determined.

Eye diseases

Four indicators capturing genetic predispositions to common ophthalmological conditions.

  • Myopia  genetic factors of predisposition to myopia and its progression are analyzed.

  • Astigmatism genetic characteristics associated with a tendency to irregular curvature of the cornea or lens are identified.

  • Glaucoma — genetic risk factors for increased intraocular pressure and optic nerve damage are evaluated.

  • Dry eye syndrome — genetic features of tear production and tear film stability are analyzed.

Nutrients for the skin

Five indicators that capture genetic characteristics of nutrient absorption critical to the condition of skin and connective tissue.

  • Vitamin A  genetic features of beta-carotene conversion and retinol absorption are determined, which affect skin regeneration and the functioning of the sebaceous glands.

  • Vitamin C  genetic factors associated with individual need for vitamin C as a cofactor for collagen synthesis and an antioxidant are analyzed.

  • Vitamin E  genetic features of the transport and absorption of tocopherol, a key fat-soluble antioxidant of the skin, are being evaluated.

  • Cysteine and proline genetic factors for the synthesis of these amino acids, which are structural components of collagen, keratin, and antioxidant systems of the skin, are determined.

Who is this test relevant to?

  • People with chronic dermatological conditions — atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, eczema: a genetic skin test helps understand the genetic component and develop a care approach together with a dermatologist.

  • For those who notice early signs of age-related skin changes: a genetic skin aging test helps understand individual characteristics of the aging process before visible changes appear.

  • People with a family history of glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, or early hearing loss should consult an ophthalmologist to assess genetic factors and take a preventive approach.

  • For those who take skin nutrients and want to rely on an understanding of individual genetic characteristics when choosing forms and dosages together with a doctor.

The results of this DNA skin health test are not a diagnosis and are not a substitute for a doctor's consultation. The Apixmed Prism report provides genetic context — data that complements clinical assessment and helps make decisions about care, nutritional support and prevention together with a dermatologist or ophthalmologist.
