Reanalysis instructions

How to provide your own genetic file: instructions

Apixmed Prism reports are built on your genetic data. You can obtain it in two ways: 

  1. Order Prisma DNA Test and provide a DNA sample.

  2. Submit a file you already have from genotyping or whole-genome sequencing at another company*.

 These instructions are for use when ordering a Prisma DNA Report or other Apixmed Prism DNA reports based on existing genetic data.

Which Files Are Suitable for Interpretation by Apixmed Prism

To interpret genetic data obtained at another company, we need a file with genetic variants in the VCF (Variant Call Format):

  • VCF files, obtained from genotyping array testing.

  • VCF files, obtained from whole-genome sequencing (WGS) testing.

We check the suitability of each specific file individually.

Not Suitable for Reanalysis and Interpretation of Results

  • A PDF report from another company — this file contains a ready-made interpretation, not the raw genetic variant data.

  • FASTQ and BAM — contain raw or aligned sequencing data, but are not a ready set of called variants for building a report.

  • Files with a limited number of polymorphisms obtained after testing by the PCR method, which do not contain a sufficient set of positions.

  • VCF from exome sequencing (WES) or targeted panel sequencing — even in VCF format, data obtained by these methods may not contain enough of the required positions to build a report for the selected genetic test.

How to Send the File

  • Email us at support@apixmed.com.ua or use another channel to get access to a personal storage. . Do not attach or send your genetic data via messengers or email. 

  • We will check the data and confirm whether it is suitable for the selected report by replying to your message. (The check is free and carries no obligation.)

  • Once the file's suitability is confirmed, you pay for the selected test or panel — and we take your genetic data into processing.

If You Don't Have Genetic Data Yet

Start with the Prisma DNA Test: it includes everything you need to collect a saliva sample yourself at home — no blood draw, no lab visit. The resulting data stays with you in VCF format and can be used for any Apixmed Prism report and for analyzing additional markers as scientific knowledge advances and the Apixmed Prism marker database is updated, without collecting a new sample.

*Responsibility for Genetic Data Obtained from Another Company 

The company that provided the DNA sample analysis service is responsible for the quality and completeness of the genetic file. Apixmed Prism is not responsible for the data contained in a genetic file obtained from another company.
